Customer Reviews

Danby 14000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best portable A/C unit!! Best money ever spent!! We use it in our master bedroom so we can turn off the central air at night. It blasts cold air and is very efficient at cooling our room fast even with our high ceilings. Our room is about 300 sq feet and it stays nice and cool during the hot summer nights! The fan works well also with the room temp air that flows when it's cooler out. The noise level isn't too bad and it definitely helps block out the outside noise (dogs, trucks, etc). The remote works just OK and doesn't always register a change but it does turn it on/off so you won't have to get up and do it. I highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a really nice portable a/c It only takes about 5 minutes to set when the power goes out. Since I used foam insulation when built the house we close the bedroom doors and it keeps the rest of the house cool. Can't believe it puts out 42 degree air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C This a/c has worked well in my apartment, but the amount of effort to vent it is minimal. Many condos/apartments don't allow window a/c's, so this is a wonderful solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Portable air conditioner We really enjoyed this product over the summer. We had a Kenmore before but the Danby out preformed. I only wish the exhaust hose was 8' long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Great Portable Air Conditoner! This is a much quieter, more efficient, portable air conditioner than our old one. It also covers a lot more of the house. We love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vraiment super cet appareil pour la chambre. Il répond parfaitement à notre besoin. Cependant, je le trouve un peu encombrant avec le tuyau mais c'est un choix.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disapointment This air conditioner is very loud and does not cool the room. After running for hours it only brings the temperature down a few degrees. I wanted this type so it would block the window but it is very large and heavy to move and does not cool the room like our old window air conditioner.

FAQs

On most models with heat mode, it is advised to use the hose for direct drain. This will ensure the pan does not fill up too quickly.
Units with three drainage ports are units which also feature heat mode. The bottom drainage port empties the internal pan, the middle port is for continuous drain during heat and the top port is for continuous drain during dry mode. Please consult your owner’s manual for more detail.
The water drains from the drainage port. If you are not using the continuous drain, the internal pan drains from the bottom outlet. Consult your owner’s manual for more information.
During heat mode, dry mode or continuous draining. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.
You should always use it during cooling and heating. It is not required during fan and dry mode. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.
When selected, this automatically sets the appropriate option for your room based on the ambient temperature. For example, if it is 15°C outside, the unit would flip to fan mode. If it is set to 30°C, the unit would revert back to cooling mode.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
Dual hose models have an intake and exhaust hose. With single hose models, the hose exhausts and the air that is to be “conditioned” is taken in from the room through the unit.
