Danby Appliances Proudly Supports Wyndham House’s Newly Renovated Youth Residence

Guelph, ON. Canada – May 30, 2023: Wyndham House, a leading organization dedicated to supporting homeless youth in the Guelph community, has recently announced the grand re-opening of the Bellevue Project at 51 Bellevue St, Guelph. This newly renovated residence, made possible by the contributions of community donors and government funding, including Danby Appliances, will serve as permanent supportive housing for eight vulnerable youth aged 16 to 25 years.

As a proud donor, Danby Appliances recognizes the importance of providing a safe and stable environment for young individuals facing homelessness. The Bellevue Project signifies a major milestone in Wyndham House’s 50th year anniversary, showcasing an innovative Youth focused Permanent Supportive Housing model, one of the first of its kind in Canada.

Through this transformative initiative, Wyndham House aims to prioritize the well-being, stability, and healthy development of the youth it serves. The organization’s comprehensive diversion work, including family unification and the provision of safe accommodations with additional supports, aims to prevent young individuals from entering the shelter system.

Each resident at the Bellevue Project will benefit from a private bedroom and washroom, as well as shared living and dining areas. Furthermore, the residence will offer round-the-clock on-site staffing support to meet the complex needs of its residents. By providing a vital stepping stone toward stability, the Bellevue Project significantly contributes to Guelph’s ongoing commitment to eliminate homelessness in the community.
