Description

Excessive humidity and moisture can easily be removed from your room or office with this modern and efficient 70-pint (33.1 litre) portable dehumidifier. It’s designed to remove up to 70 pints of moisture every 24 hours from large areas up to 3,800 square feet. This will lower the temperature naturally, meaning you won’t need to run the air conditioning all the time. This will result in lower electricity bills and since the unit is Energy Star compliant you’ll save even more money. It’s convenient to move from room to room due to the built-in rolling castors meaning you can create a comfortable environment in numerous areas of your home. The electronic controls are easy to read and program and the appliance can run in temperatures as low as 5ºC (41F). A drain hose is included for direct draining and the environmentally-friendly model uses R410A refrigerant. There is a low and high fan speed, an automatic restart feature and an auto de-icing system. When it comes time to clean the filter it can easily be removed, washed, and put back in.

Customer Reviews

Premiere 70 Dehumidifier is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing product. This dehumidifier had a seal break and oil leaked into water reservoir 1 month past it's warranty. The local business I purchased this from stated that Danby would not replace the item because it was past the warranty period. I had to purchase another one of the same kind because that's all my local business had to sell. In the past dehumidifiers we have owned have lasted 6-8 years. Also this product did not auto shut off when the humidity setting was reached. I constantly had to check it and turn off and on manually. I will not buy another Danby dehumidifier and definitely do not recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't normally do 5* We need a dehumidifier desperately. our gas heat return is in the basement which is basically unfinished. So of course I want the best bang for my buck. I did a ton of research read countless reviews (I always always read all the 1*,2*,3* reviews ) after all that Danby dehumidifier was it. Great price, great machine. I set the humidity level it pumps into condensation pump we already have that carries it outside. It kicks itself off and on. I never touch the thing. It's been running for a year now. We run it year round. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improved over previous model We have two Danby Dehumidifiers in our basement. This new one replaced an older model which died after 5 years. They work well, and do a nice job extracting moisture. I like that the newer model shuts off when the humidity is below the set point. The fan on the older models run continuously. The new model does not have a remote like the older model. Not an issue since we never used it anyway. I deducted a star because of the noise level. Not an issue for me because of where these are, but wouldn't want it in a living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Dehumidifier! It could not have been simpler to connect up the drain hose, (and since the unit lives in my basement, the hose goes directly into my main line that goes into the sewer), establish the settings I want, and get the dehumidifier going. It has been effective, quiet, and trouble-free for the year I've had it - - so much so that I've forgotten about it and only notice how well it's working when I go into the section of the basement where it's located. Glad I picked this dehumidifier after doing a lot of research.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifier DDR70A2GP I have had several different brand dehumidifiers which have failed within in a year or two or even less time. The above model has been working full time in a two thousand square foot sealed/partial heated and A/C 'd craw space with ceilings ranging from five to over nine feet in height. The dehumidifier has kept the craw space at an average of 50% humidity as measured by a separate electronic gauge. To date, the unit has worked very satisfactory!! I also think the warranty is exceptional.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Continuous drain modification As a dehumidifier in crawl space it works great. The continuous drain function kept filling up the water collection tank and shutting the unit down. Took it in for warranty with nothing found to be wrong. Was told unit had to be level. As an engineer I made sure it was level. After units continuous drain failed again I dismantled unit and plugged overflow hole to collection tank. Unit has been running great now for the past nine months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done This is my second Danby dehumidifier. The first one lasted 15 months. Danby graciously refunded my money. With customer service this good I bought a second dehumidifier. This dehumidifier has worked flawlessly. Within 90 minutes it can drop the humidity 25% in a 600 square foot basement. I keep it on low speed and the noise level is at an acceptable low level. Power consumption is also low for this size unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This dehumidifier is a workhorse. Have used it for well over a year now and zero complaints. Removes as much humidity as it says it does, filter is easily accessible, and just as easy to clean. Pretty quiet. Works well on optional continuous drain mode. Best of all, if you lose power, this thing comes back on automatically when power is restored. Also works well at reduced temps.

This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
