Danby 8000 BTU Window Air ConditionerDAC080EUB7GDB
You can afford to go toe-to-toe with the tough summer heat with this powerful 8,000 BTU window air conditioner in your corner. This unit is designed to stop heat and humidity in their tracks as it can easily cool down an area up to 350 square feet in size. This classy appliance will also help battle your electricity bills as it is Energy Star compliant with an Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of 12.0. One thing this model won’t hurt though is the ozone layer since it uses environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant. The air conditioner attacks the uncomfortable temperatures with four-way air direction and it can be easily programmed by the integrated remote control unit and the LED-displayed electronic settings. Temperatures can be set between 62°F - 86°F (17°C and 30°C) with the automatic on/off function enabling you to set start and stop times for any time of the day. The fan can be cycled on and off after the compressor shuts off via the smart energy-saver switch and the sleep mode will make sure your room doesn’t get too cold while you’re sleeping. There’s also a 12-month warranty on all parts and labor with in-home service.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Hot and humid from Define auto mode? Simply put, we left this on auto set for 72 in our cabin. When we returned hours later the cabin was 80 degrees, only the fan was running and the cabin was at 70 percent humidity. Im still unclear as to what auto mode does then. I was under the assumption it would run until the set temp, then run dry mode until an appropropriate humidty has been reached. It failed at both. Also noticing water splashing out of the unit up against the window. No big deal but my wife isnt happy about this. Finally , I can see water inside the base of the unit but it appears the drain is on a raised area if the only hole I see is actually the drain? I dont see anything dripping out either, and we have a significant tilt, probably moreso than needed but the mounting system pretty much predicates that. We bought two of these, one ive installed and tried now for a week and another for a bedroom. Im thinking both are going back to costco whos reputation for carrying quality products seems to diminish more and more over the past 2 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Clark G from Nice and chilly Bought from Costco. This is my first home with out central air. Keeps my bedroom at 66 all night and day. Easy install also. Wish it had clips for vinyl Windows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MKime from Kept me cool! The room that I used this in was about 350 square feet and it would cool off really quickly on hot days. The dehumidifier setting seemed to work well, but I usually kept it on auto mode. The higher power setting is loud, but I like sleeping with "white noise" and it was perfect on low.

No, this is not recommended. Please bring your AC unit indoors during the winter months.
We do not recommend using an extension cord.
Water is collected during the air conditioning process. This water will drain out of the unit and onto the ground and is why the unit should be installed on a slight downward tilt.
The sizes range from size 6-10 but varies based on model and screw location. Please consult your owner’s manual for more details.
When selected, this automatically sets the appropriate option for your room based on the ambient temperature. For example, if it is 15°C outside, the unit would flip to fan mode. If it is set to 30°C, the unit would revert back to cooling mode.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
The styrofoam that is inside the unit acts as insulation. Do not remove it. Only remove loose packaging.
