Rated 5 out of 5 by Sigrid from Great freezer and perfect size! According to the Owner's Manual, the freezer should NOT be located in a garage. However, on your website it states it is "Garage Ready"! The salesperson who sold us the freezer said it was fine in a garage, so we purchased it. I am hoping that the Owner's manual is NOT correct in the placement of the freezer! I am experiencing frost, however, on the inside "lip" of the freezer - where the basket is located. Just at the hinge side of the lid. Is this normal?

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2Travelers from Great Freezer With Exceptional Warranty So far loving it. Wish it came with a second moveable basket. Also, I'm not sure why it says it is "garage-ready", when you have to keep it in the house unless the garage is climate controlled. Finally, wish there was an external drip tray we could buy to put under it since we have it in the house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mass customer from Satisfaction So far so good. The size and design are perfect for us. The freezer arrived with a minor superficial dent on the case that looks like it happened in the factory, not during shipping. Otherwise 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mwmmartin from Very well Insulated and reliable Our Danby chest freezer has been great. We recently had some very bad weather where we lost power for 2 or 3 days and everything in our chest freezer was still fully frozen when power was restored.

Garage ready means that the freezer is well insulated and equipped to handle temperature extremes in an enclosed garage. The garage must be enclosed so that the freezer is not subject to snow, rain and other environmental weather conditions not meant for an electrical appliance. The exterior temperature range that the garage ready freezers can operate within is 0F - 110F/-17C – 43C.
Danby’s refrigerators and freezers operate at a sound level between 35 and 46 decibels. This is within the normal decibel range for modern freezers.
Doors reversals can be performed on the majority of Danby’s upright freezers. Door reversal instructions can be found in the owner’s manual.
