Customer Reviews

Danby Designer 4.4 Litre Compact Refrigerator is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect beer fridge I was interested in small fridge with no freezer for the purpose of storing beer (both 12 and 22 oz bottles). I have the adjustable racks set up such that the top rack will fit the 22 oz bottles verticle, the middle rack till hold 12 oz bottles horizontally and the bottom rack will hold 12 oz bottles vertaclly. The door also accomodates a fair amount of beers. All told the unit will hold about 30-40 beers depending on bottle size. My first unit broke after about 3 months. Called customer service and they sent out a local repair man. When he could not fix it they shipped me a new unit which i have had for about 8 months without issue. Great product at this price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice little fridge This fridge is okay for a dorm room or a little overflow. We use it in the basement to hold extra milk, a few cans and a couple of wine bottles. We purchased this one because it was a bit larger than other mini fridges, but sometimes wish it was just a little larger. Our biggest complaint is with the shelves in the door. They are too narrow to hold hardly anything. Each shelf has a bump out to hold a larger item. Would have been better if the whole shelf was as deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I needed I needed a small refrigerator to store my granddaughters drinks, yogurt, and other snacks in. All others had a freezer compartment that I didn't want. This one was perfect as it fits under my bar and is a full refrigerator without freezer. I have owned it for one year without any problems. My granddaughter also loves it as she can get her own juice boxes and water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value; Best buy for under $1000 (sale $900) We researched a lot for a built in - balancing functionality, with price, along with needing a front venting double door unit (one side for beer, one for wine & pop). Almost two years into it, still working great. Yes, stated by others, the compressor can be heard if everything else is quiet but minor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great size fridge for our sunroom We use as a bar fridge for outdoor entertaining. It holds a lot of drinks and keeps everthing very cold even though it is in a sunroom which can get quite warm in the summer. We empty it and turn it off in the winter months and started up again just fine in the spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One year so far working fine, no regrets "Features and Price" was the factor. * ENERGY STAR * rated for one. Needed compact fridge without freezer at reasonable price and Danby was the choice. Should have looked for larger model. Never large enough for main fridge overflow.

FAQs

Have you recently opened and then closed the fridge (over the last 1-5 minutes)? If so, being unable to open the fridge again right away is an indication that your door seal is working well. An example of this is you open the fridge, grab a yogurt then close it, but then you decide you want a pudding so you try to open it again but the door seems stuck. When you opened the unit the first time for the yogurt, heat and humidity entered the fridge. When you closed the fridge, this heat was sealed into the unit. If you go to open the fridge again within 5 minutes for the pudding, it might be difficult to open the seal. Wait 5-10 minutes (this allows the hot air in the fridge to cool), when you try opening it again there should be no problem.
Yes, please allow it to sit upright for 6 hours before plugging it in.
Please refer to your product on www.danby.com.
This varies based on model. Please refer to your owner’s manual. If your knob is a dial that has a blue strip, the darker blue/thicker side indicates the coldest setting. If it is numbered, the highest number is the coldest setting. If your model has a thermostat with temperatures in °C /F, set it to the coolest temperature.
We do not recommend using an extension cord.
Our refrigerators are not designed for outside installation. This also includes anywhere that is not temperature controlled. ie. garages, porches, carports, etc.
It is common for new units to have a slight plastic smell. Ensure you have removed all packing material from the fridge. If that does not help, clean the inside of the unit by following the cleaning instructions included in the owner’s manual. Once completed, place an open box of baking soda in the fridge to absorb any remaining odours.
