Danby Walks with Hope for the Coldest Night of the Year

On February 20, 2021 thousands of Canadians across the country will feel a hint of the challenges faced by someone experiencing homelessness during a cold winter. The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Over the past decade, CNOY has raised over 30 million dollars for organizations whose commitment and work transforms peoples’ lives!

This year, CNOY has organized a covid-safe, family-friendly walk where participants will be walking within their neighbourhoods, with their households.

Danby will also be joining the walk with a team of our own! We’ve put together a team of employees and family members to help raise funds for a local charity, HOPE House. With an increase in demand brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, this organization has provided urgent food relief and other essential programming, such as counselling, clothing, and system navigation support to those in need in the Guelph area and Wellington County.

As one of their sponsors, Danby has donated 700 face masks for the volunteers to help ensure the safety of this event.

Walk with us virtually and help us reach our goal of raising $3,000 for HOPE House Guelph!

Thank you to everyone who has helped raise funds for HOPE House. We have exceeded our original goal of $1,500, 9 days prior to the walk, and raised $2,855 in the end! Together, 73 teams and 384 walkers raised a total of $148,511 for HOPE House Guelph!
