It can be quickly and easily installed in any office or room up to 550 square feet in size with the 12,000 BTU cooling capacity keeping the space as cool as possible. The air is circulated evenly around the room with the three-speed fan which can be programmed by an electronic LED display unit as well as by remote. The modern and convenient automatic on/off feature means you don’t have to worry about getting up to program it. The R410A refrigerant makes this model an environmentally-friendly option and the unit comes with a direct-drain feature which can handle a capacity of 84 pints every 24 hours. The single-hose design ensures that all the humid air is eliminated from the room and sent outdoors while the reusable air filter makes it simple to keep clean. Danby air conditioners are designed to cool a single room and not multiple rooms. Any walls or doors will interfere with the air flow.
Danby portable air conditioners have a sound rating from 38 decibels to 56 decibels. The exact decibel range is determined by the model of the unit and the mode (fan, cool or heat if available with the model). Danby also has a patented Silencer Technology available on several models that will keep your home cool and comfortable while operating at a 46 decibel to 49 decibel range.
You should always use it during cooling and heating. In most models it should be removed while using fan and dry mode as it is not required. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.

On most models with heat mode, it is advised to use the hose for direct drain. This will ensure the pan does not fill up too quickly.
When selected, this automatically sets the appropriate option for your room based on the ambient temperature. For example, if it is 15°C outside, the unit would flip to fan mode. If it is set to 30°C, the unit would revert back to cooling mode.
The water drains from the drainage port. If you are not using the continuous drain, the internal pan drains from the bottom outlet. Consult your owner’s manual for more information.
During heat mode, dry mode or continuous draining. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.
This is not recommended, as the unit is built to operate using the drain hose/power cord provided.
Units with three drainage ports are units which also feature heat mode. The bottom drainage port empties the internal pan, the middle port is for continuous drain during heat and the top port is for continuous drain during dry mode. Please consult your owner’s manual for more detail.
Dual hose models have an intake and exhaust hose. With single hose models, the hose exhausts and the air that is to be “conditioned” is taken in from the room through the unit.
No, this is not recommended. Please bring your AC unit indoors during the winter months.
There are a few things to check to ensure this doesn't happen: - Ensure that the hose is properly installed at both ends and this should minimize heat escape - Ensure the hose is not over extended. Keep the unit as close the window/patio as possible - Ensure the unit is in an area where it's getting lots of air circulation, which allows the unit to run cooler and results in less heat escaping. If the heat is escaping from the exhaust port then the hose is either restricted or not installed properly. Unfortunately, it is not possible to completely stop all heat loss from escaping.
