Danby Appliances was just named as one of the top employers for Waterloo Region by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers at Mediacorp Canada Inc. Sharing the honours with other amazing organizations in the Waterloo region, including several in our own backyard of Guelph, ON. “We’re honored to be named alongside these amazing businesses as one of the region’s top employers,” said Danby CEO Jim Estill. “We strive to Do The Right Thing, by our customers, our partners and of course our employees.”

Special recognition was given to Danby for their adjustments in regard to remote work.

“Danby Products introduced a hybrid working model for some employees, loaning needed technology and furniture for home offices. Employees can also apply to work remotely up to three months outside Canada. Employees share in the company’s success through an annual profit-sharing plan; company has a charitable program focused on helping sponsor and resettle new Canadians and refugees; and the company offers a hybrid working model that allows some employees to work off-site up to three days per week.”

Estill followed by stating “That’s why we wanted to maintain a healthy balance of in office and remote working conditions for our team members. After all, without the hard work and commitment they provide, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Waterloo Area’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the employers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
