Smart Move.

Dampness, mold, and mildew certainly aren’t good for your health and your home’s structure, but they can easily be removed from the environment with this classic 70 pint (33.1litre) capacity portable dehumidifier. It will help eliminate up to 70 pints of moisture from the air every 24 hours in spaces up to 4,500 square feet. The unit helps cut down on power bills due to its Energy Star rating and the R410A refrigerant used is very environmentally friendly. You have the option of a low and high fan speed and they can easily be controlled by the electronic digital panel. You won’t get a buildup of ice on the coils as the automatic de-icing feature takes care of this. There’s a low-temperature feature which enables the dehumidifier to operate in temperatures as low as 5ºC (41F). it can also operate continuously because of the convenient direct-drain system and there’s also a handy automatic-restart device. When you’re ready to dehumidify another room you can easily transport the appliance by rolling it on the built-in castors. Cleaning is just as easy as the filter can be removed and washed.

Customer Reviews

Premiere 70 Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reliability in question This is a fine dehumidifier when in operation. Mine lasted two seasons just beyond the warranty provided with purchase. Then the compressor, the heart of the device, stopped working and the repair shop said this was not economical to repair. My last Westinghouse dehumidifier lasted over 20 years. Perhaps the compressor failure we experienced is rare but the customer does not have access to that information. So I would only recommend this product with an extended warranty and U.S. customers should note that you do not have access to the longer, more economical warranty available to Canadian customers. Not sure why that is the case. In my judgement the compressors should be designed for a minimum 10-15 year life and the manufacturer should warrant the compressor for at least five years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable dehumidifier The dehumidifer worked quietly and made the basement feel warm and dry. I recommend this appliance to anyone who uses their basement for office, recreation or living space. You will notice a huge difference in comfort. Enjoy!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Noisy I have been a bit disappointed in the inconsistent, noisy, running of this dehumidifier. There are times it sounds like a plane taking off, and doesn't settle until unplugged and rested for a few days prior to settling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifier that does the job and doesn't ice up. This is the first dehumidifier that I've had that keeps the humidity low in my finished basement and doesn't ice up. It produces a great environment during the humid summer months in Southern Ontario, Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fine dehumidifier that does the job We did have to return the first one to the store where purchased as the filter did not fit properly. Used all summer and it worked well. Easy to empty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from deshumidificateur javais un deshumidificateur danby. pendant au moins une dizaine d'annees il a super bien fonctionner. il etait donc evident que cest ce que je me racheterais. mais malheureusement je ne laime pas vraiment. jai pris le gros modele pour quil deshumidifie mon sous-sol mais finalement il n'arrete jamais! l'air qui sort est froid alors que mon ancien, l'air qui sortsit etait chaud et il arretait.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great dehumidifier except ... Dehumidifier works well. It is very quiet. Only complaint is the bucket fills to the very top and when going to empty it, no matter how careful how you are, water spills on the floor. There does not seem to be any adjustment that can be made to change the level of the water before it shuts off.

It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
This will vary based on humidity level. It will pump out the water when it reaches a certain level (pump models only).
There are a couple of reasons this could be occuring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
This is not recommended, as the unit is built to operate using the drain hose/power cord provided.
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
