Customer Reviews

Danby 38 Bottle Wine Cooler is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great until it broke Great little wine fridge at first and holds a lot of bottles but it stopped working after about 13 months. We noticed water all over our floor one day, and it was leaking everywhere. Cleaned it up, defrosted it completely for 24hrs, dried up all the water inside it and next day, same thing. Big flood in our living room and it no longer keeps the bottles cold. It also has a very pungent plastic smell that never went away, even after a year. My husband found it be quite noisy as well. Overall, glad we bought it at Costco as they are letting us return it for a full refund. Would not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product I had to return it. It was not generating. It lasted maybe a week. Problem is, what else do you buy? Its cheaper than most coolers out there but priced higher then its worth. I ended up with a different product that happened to fit my space. That is also an issue. Finding the right size cooler. And Danby seems to have that market almost to themselves. I will not buy a Danby if i can buy something else. Also getting coolers fixed out side the warranty period is a trap. Dont bother trying to fix anything. You will get charged $60 for just looking at it to be told its too expensive to fix and then they will take your cooler and use it for parts or fix it themselves for their own resale. A total Damby scam. I got completely burned on that one. Take my advice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had an issue with this unit We had this unit for about 6 months when It started making a clicking noise. It was loud enough to notice it during the night when we were in bed. Noise was occurring every half hour or so and over time would get louder and louder. This occurred for about two to three months then started to get less and less loud. Presently there is no clicking coming from this unit. Seems the problem worked it self out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good fridge but with limitations This fridge does a good job of temperature control, and I like the separate compartments for white and red wines with corresponding temperatures. However, the shelves only work well for standard size bottles. Any longer or fatter bottles (which are becoming more popular), do not fit well. I also do not like the pooling of condensation water on the floor when humidity is high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good wine fridge Previously we had another brand of wine fridge which promptly died one day after the warrantee expired. We purchased this Danby fridge and have been very happy with it. While some of the larger bottle are a tight squeeze, it's generally very accommodating and keeps the wine nicely chilled. I would highly recommend this fridge.
