Customer Reviews

Premiere 60 Pint Dehumidifier is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works great but for how long? We bought our unit from Costco, it worked great for the first season. The unit sat over the winter unused, upon starting it up the following spring , it failed to reduce the humidity. The room air temperature sensor is defective and is indicating 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I located the circuit board that contains the sensors, it's located in the upper part of the casing. Since the false temperature reading is below the compressor lockout protective setpoint, it doesn't run. Essentially all we have now is a fan blowing air around. If you can send me a replacement board, I will fix the unit. Quality of the unit is suspect, should get more than one years service out of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I gave it a two stars only as it is far from being Energy Saver. It does what it is supposed to do, get rid of the humidity in your home but that comes to a huge cost in terms of electricy consumption. My power bills are very much the same every other month so it was easy to see how much energy that dehumidifiers was pulling. I noticed an increase of slightly more than 30 % power consumption increase over a single month . Enough for me to unplug it and packed it back up in its original box. I haven't used it since.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DANBY DEHUMIDIFIER I thought in purchasing a Danby Premiere Dehumidifier, I would have at least 10 to 15 years of good use, however I did not even get three (3) years and the unit malfunctioned not drawing any water out of the air (compressor failure) when turned on this spring. I have purchased several Danby items including a refrigerator and a stand up freezer in the past and knock on wood I have not had any problems, however I will not purchase another Danby product in the future. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Déhumidificateur acheté le 9 juillet 2013 La garantie prenait fin le 9 sep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after one summer The dehumidifier broke after one summer of use, somehow it lost all its refrigerant and was not able to function no more even though it still turned on and everything seemed OK.

FAQs

It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
There are a couple of reasons this could be occuring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
This will vary based on humidity level. It will pump out the water when it reaches a certain level (pump models only).
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This is not recommended, as the unit is built to operate using the drain hose/power cord provided.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
