Customer Reviews

Danby 30 Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised You can set the desired humidity and let it go. Spray down the inside of the water bin once a week. One small inconvenience: The filter light goes on for no reason. I pull the filter out and it's as good as new (I have a HEPA filter in my apartment). There is a bit of roughage in the corner of the filter due to a manufacturing defect, but I doubt that would cause the filter light to go one after days of usage. Resetting the filter doesn't always help, and neither does recycling the power. I have to unplug the unit (which is not convenient because the outlet is hard to access). It's not worth the trouble to send it in (nor the cost); besides, I didn't keep the box.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lousy product I purchased a Danby dehumidifier, model DDR30B1GB, serial No. 0413020703217 from Walmart on 2013-11-12. It broke after 2 years and 4 months of usage. According to your customer dept, it was not repairable, so it had to be thrown away. After 2 years and 4 months of usage!!! I will never buy buy Danby product again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Très bonne qualité versus prix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent dehumidifier Excellent dehumidifier. Have been using it for well over a year and it's been running seamlessly. Used to have a musty odour in the basement and very humid. Not anymore with this thing running. It's truly made a difference in our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it's job! It's a great little unit. Not big in size so if you want to move it from one location to another, it's easy to move. The water reservoir is easy to empty.

FAQs

It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
There are a couple of reasons this could be occuring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
This will vary based on humidity level. It will pump out the water when it reaches a certain level (pump models only).
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This is not recommended, as the unit is built to operate using the drain hose/power cord provided.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
