Among the donation, the items donated were toasters, cutlery, pots and pans, knife block, blender, coffee maker, kettles, cutting boards and more! These are often some of the most overlooked items when donations are made but can be so crucial when trying to resettle yourself and your family. When asked about the donation Jim Estill, Danby CEO said, “While large furniture items are definitely needed to resettle displaced families, small kitchen items are often critical and overlooked. This donation from Stokes will help ensure those starting their new lives will have access to everything they need.”
In total over $6,000 in brand new items will make their way into the hands of those in need. “At Stokes, one of the many endeavours that we got involved with, is at the community level in different parts of the country” said Stuart “Our leasing representative, Dianne Lemm is a volunteer for this cause, and approached me for Stokes support. This project is very dear to her and fit perfectly with our company philosophy of helping families in need of essentials at different points of the year. Coincidently, we just opened a Stokes store in Guelph at Stone Road Mall, so the partnership was perfect with Danby to help assist in the aid of these refugees trying to start new lives in our great country. We are proud to be supporting this very worthy cause.”
When asked about Stokes choosing to donate Estill said “It’s always great when two Canadian companies can come together to help those in need in our communities”
