We want to make it easy for you. Here are some common terms that you may come across when reviewing the different types of Danby Dehumidifiers.

De-icing Feature

When your Danby Dehumidifier operates at low temperatures, the surface of the evaporator may accumulate a layer of frost – reducing overall efficiency. This de-icing feature (auto-defrost) helps improve performance by automatically switching the unit into defrost mode until the frost is melted.

R410A refrigerant

R410A offers greater efficiency – saving you in energy costs – and is much better for the environment than other refrigerants.

Direct drain option

This installation method is great for those looking for a more practical set up and do not want the hassle of having to manually empty out the dehumidifier once the water reaches a predetermined level. This optional feature requires an area with a drain located in the floor.

Size Matters

A dehumidifier’s size is determined by its total capacity to remove moisture within a 24 hour period. By knowing the square footage and the relative moisture level of the area you would like to dehumidify, you can get an idea of the capacity you may need.

Optimizing Your Dehumidifier – Save on your utility bills and diminish your carbon footprint!

  1. Set the Humidistat at a reasonable level. We suggest you set the desired humidity to between 40 – 50 percent.
  2. Keep your doors and windows closed when your Danby Dehumidifier is running.
  3. Keep it away from sources of excess dust or dirt, since this can very quickly clog the filter more frequently
  4. Be sure to check and clean your dehumidifier’s filter regularly. This will help ensure it’s operating as efficiently as possible.
  5. The water produced by your Danby Dehumidifier is referred to as grey water. It is not suitable for drinking water, but can be great for watering houseplants and flowers as it’s less salty than tap water.
