Rated 5 out of 5 by Dutchie from DANBY Air Conditioner DPA 085B1GB I first bought a DeLonghi Pinguino A/C that had a higher cooling capacity AND a higher price. I was very unhappy with it, as it never worked effectively, ever, even after a complete overhaul. I replaced it with this DANBY A/C. This DANBY A/C has a far higher output, never has broken down, and like "The Little Engine That Could", it just keeps on pumping out, all the cool air that I ever needed. This is the first DANBY appliance, that ever I've owned, and will definitely, not be my last. I should have purchased a DANBY at the beginning, saving a lot of discomfort, grief, and money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bobka from Average Air Conditioner (Portable) Always had good luck with Danby products but this portable air conditioner needs a boost to make it work more effectively! In a 350 sq. ft. apartment and the unit on full it is barely lowering the room temperature. One needs to sit in front of the unit then you feel some cooling air blowing on your body! But the room is just a little bit cooler!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nala 2805 from super pour la réfrigération. J'aimerais vous dire pour refroidir mon salon car c'est l'endroit que je l'ai installé sa faite le travail, mais je m'attendais pas qu'elle aurais été si bruyante au point que j'étais obligé de l'arrêter pour dormir.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pukkka1313 from Awesome portable air conditioner! It is fairly easy to set up and it definitely cools a room off in no time at all. Having to vent it to go outside is a pain but if you have a handyman around it can be done fairly quick.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lindyloo from Portable air conditioner Was pretty good but not really powerful. In a small space of under 300 sq.ft. it barely did the job. It quit working about a week after the warranty was up!!

On most models with heat mode, it is advised to use the hose for direct drain. This will ensure the pan does not fill up too quickly.
Units with three drainage ports are units which also feature heat mode. The bottom drainage port empties the internal pan, the middle port is for continuous drain during heat and the top port is for continuous drain during dry mode. Please consult your owner’s manual for more detail.
The water drains from the drainage port. If you are not using the continuous drain, the internal pan drains from the bottom outlet. Consult your owner’s manual for more information.
During heat mode, dry mode or continuous draining. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.
You should always use it during cooling and heating. It is not required during fan and dry mode. Please consult your owner’s manuals for more details.
When selected, this automatically sets the appropriate option for your room based on the ambient temperature. For example, if it is 15°C outside, the unit would flip to fan mode. If it is set to 30°C, the unit would revert back to cooling mode.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
Dual hose models have an intake and exhaust hose. With single hose models, the hose exhausts and the air that is to be “conditioned” is taken in from the room through the unit.
