Description

You’ll be able to keep your room cool, comfortable, and humidity-free with this stylish 60 pint (28.4 litre) portable dehumidifier. This unit can efficiently remove moisture from areas up to 3,600 square feet in size. The model features easy-to-use electronic controls and adjustable humidity settings as well as two quiet fan settings. The Energy Star rating means it’s one of the most efficient models on the market and will help cut down on electricity usage. It has a low environmental impact due to the R134A refrigerant and can operate in temperatures as low as 5ºC (41°F). The noise levels are minimized with this appliance and the drain hose is ideal for direct draining. The dehumidifier also comes with an automatic restart unit as well as an auto de-icing system to keep the coils free of ice. Cleaning the appliance and moving it to another room are as easy as can be due to the removable air filter and rolling castors.

Customer Reviews

Premiere 60 Pint Dehumidifier is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Danby is a great dehumidifer. I chose a the Danby dehumidifier because my mother has one which has ran for years solving her humidity problem. And, the gym where I work out uses two Danby dehumidifiers to help remove the humidity of the hundreds of sweaty bodies. So, I trusted that Danby would get the job done for me. After receiving a humidistat as a Christmas gift last Christmas, I realized that I had a serious humidity problem in my home. I highly recommend the Danby humidifier for personal or commercial use. It will get the job done and be hassle free. (Hint) I drain my dehumidifier to the overflow pipe for my hot water heater, located in my utility closet, so I don't have to empty the bucket.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Efficient but noisy The unit does really dry the air and it does it efficiently but the fan pulls a lot of air so it is noisy. This could be helped if the unit shut off when the preset humidity level is achieved however it does not. The unit just keeps circulating the air and making noise thus reducing the efficiency of the unit. It is also a bit hard to manually empty the water from the unit as it does not have a channel designed to pour the water into the sink hence emptying the unit can result in a spill to the outside of the sink unless you are very careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Model DDR60A2GP This dehumidifier is of good quality, it works even better even than I expected, and was fairly priced... I have a small home on the west coast (ON the coast, so there is humidity) of 1100 square feet, which is very open and this appliance can easily keep the humidity at or below 50% even at the farthest remove from the appliance itself. ... EXCELLENT - a product that does what it advertises and does it well. ... I highly recommend it...! (I've owned it over a year, and have thereby used it during all seasons) . Stephen

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 50-50 Shot I bought one for upstairs and one for the basement couple of years ago. The one in the basement fan was working but did not condense any water. The one upstairs is still working. Now I tune down upstairs' thermostat to 60% humidity constantly, so far so good. The one in the basement was tune to 50%; maybe it was too aggressive since it was on all the time. YMMV

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well Has worked flawlessly all spring and summer.....i stopped using it this fall since it's not needed....i used both the reservoir and the direct to drain hose on different occasions just to confirm its working.....it filled the reservoir in less 24 hours so I can't complain....the 2 year warranty is one of the longest you will find amoung comparable brands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effiicient, but Noisy My dehumidifier is much more energy efficient than my previous one. The downside is that it has a high pitched sound, kind of like a whistle. I put tape over some of the vents on top and that reduces the sound, but also the air intake. That is probably bad for the machine. I have also tried putting a small can over the vents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for us Easy to set up. Runs efficiently. Very quiet, even with fan running. First unit arrived with crack in site glass. Contacted customer service, got paid shipping label, sent ours back while they shipped new one. No question or difficulties. We use it most in summer. This winter, we did experience ice damage, so used it as well. We set the level, unit is on until it reaches that level, or is full, as it is supposed to do. We empty, then it does it's thing again. We have not used the garden hose option yet, but know it won't leak since we gave it a run through. Truly, this is a great product for us. We don't use all of the programming offered, technowizzes can do that. When we don't need it, we shut it off or unplug to save electricity. We've had the dehumidifier quite a while now, and are glad we purchased it. We have recommended this model to others who ask what brand we own. It's worth every cent. We did get the extended warranty, but we always do on appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with my new dehumidifier! The unit is quiet and does a great job in my basement room! It is easy to clean and I love the filter for extra cleaning and maintenance to help keep my unit thriving! My Dad had purchased a dehumidifier first and then I did also! We love it! Thank you for a good quality dehumidifier!

There are a couple of reasons this could be occurring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.

It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
