Rated 4 out of 5 by Honeybunch from Very effective! This is my second Danby Dehumidifier. It is very effective. It runs 24/7 and I empty it twice a day. It is amazing. It pulls moisture out of the entire house, which is about 2400 sq. feet. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where the humidity is incredible. After living in Colorado over 35 years where humidity was not a problem, it has been quite an adjustment living in the deep South. This definitely solves the problem in my home. My only complaint is that this one is more noisy than the first one. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Esteban from dehumidifier The direct drain system does not work well. There is no way to close off the overflow water. I had it on a hose drain and it still overflowed on the floor. The humidistat does not work accurately. Probably poor quality electronics. I give it a three star only because it did work. But probably two stars is more correct.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PacNW moldy apartment from Excellent dehumidifier The first unit I received was defective. It would not turn off at the requested humidity setting. Danby exchanged the unit without hassle, and the second unit works perfectly. I'm really happy with this item. It removes so much water out of the air. I couldn't believe it. I would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Drier is SC from Dehumidifier This does it job well, it removes humidity from the air which helps with my allergies, and it is really easy to empty. The settings are easy to use and flexible. The only drawback is the heat it produces while it is doing its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rusmar from Good unit, but innacurate settings Tried to set on humidity limit of 50, but seems to run and run taking the humidity level much lower. Unit should hold humidity setting the user wants.

There are a couple of reasons this could be occurring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
Yes, usually this air feels warm.
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
