Description

This portable Energy Star-rated dehumidifier is the ideal appliance to keep your room less humid and cool during the sweaty days of summer. It’s designed to remove as many as 30 pints (14.2 litres) of excess moisture from areas of up to 2,000 square feet per day, making it perfect for apartments, condos and large rooms. The unit comes with two quiet fan speeds which can be controlled electronically via the digital keypad. The automatic de-icing feature will make sure the coils won’t freeze up and cleaning can be done quickly and easily with the removable air filter. If you’d like to cool down another room the rolling castors make it an easy model to move elsewhere. There’s also an auto restart as well as a low-temperature feature which enables the environmentally-friendly dehumidifier to operate continuously until the temperature hits 5ºC (41ºF).

Customer Reviews

Premiere 30 Dehumidifier is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its job well in winter Other than most upstate-NY homes, our home gets humid in winter due to the lack of wind intrusion. We therefore needed a dehumidifier to remove moisture from the air, especially in the bedroom during day-time. We purchased the DDR30A2GP for this purpose. It does its job well, but it requires the room temperature to be above 60-65F to function. The power consumption is about 300W, which amounts to 2.4kWh per day, which isn't too bad. The water storage tank has proven to be large enough for our purposes. I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifier - DDR30A2GP It's a nice size at a fair price. Make sure to size the dehumidifier to the size of the room you need to dehumidify. Better a little to large a dehumidifier than too small of one.I have my HVAC license and have fixed a few AC problems. However I was a little confused as to how best to use a dehumidifier. It is prudent to realize that any (electronic or mechanical) stand alone indoor dehumidifier does TWO things 1. Removes humidity(water vapor) from the air. 2. Adds HEAT to the air. The second factor is important to realize. The long and the short of it is this a dehumidifier is best used in a COOL DAMP or COLD DAMP situation NOT a WARM/DAMP or HOT/DAMP situation unless a dehumidifier is all you can use. The HOT/WARM/DAMP problem is most economically solved by a AC system and a COLD/DAMP problem by a heater ,with or without a dehumidifier depending on the AMOUNT of humidity in the area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good @ 8 months... I want to be fair... I purchased a bigger better Danby that only made it a few months past the warranty period. This time I went with a lesser model and so far so good. I would like the option of an extended warranty which no one seems to offer. I like their products and they always review at or near the top. My first experience could have been better! If possible I will update as time goes by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value Purchased it and used it last year. It worked great and did not have the problems that a few critical reviews stated; that the machine did not ever shut off even when the humidity indicated had been lowered below set point. This was not true with my Danby, it would cycle on and off as the humidity went higher or lower. I'm hoping it will last for at least ten years, we will wait and see.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Warrenty! I have bought 3 Danby's dehumidifier in 3 years. I use 2 down the basement in 2 separate enclosed rooms. One of the dehumidifiers broke after a year's use and Danby refunded my money and I purchased another one. The warranty is #1 reason, I bought these at the time, along with the good ratings they receive. Customer service was great in handling my claim, with no hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Spongebob This unit really soaks up the water. I bought it to take care of excess moisture until I could get bathroom vent fans installed. It does such a great job, I will keep using it around the house on damp rainy days. I live in the San Francisco bay area. Our rainy season is usually November thru mid April. It gets lighter duty in the other months. The control panel is easy to use. I like the humidity level indicator, and the 2 speed fan. I do not use the timer function that often, but it does work well when I need it. The wheels make moving it from room to room a piece of cake. The unit is very reliable. There is not much maintenance required, the filter needs to be cleaned occasionally (takes 5 minutes) and the bucked dumped (shuts off when bucket is full). If the direct drain is used, forget dumping the bucket. I am thinking about getting a second unit, so I can have one on each end of the house. If you are thinking about a dehumidifier, think Danby

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fait le travail Cet appareil fait le travail qu'on lui demande.

FAQs

There are a couple of reasons this could be occurring. 1) There may not be enough humidity in your environment or 2) Your relative humidity set higher than ambient humidity. Please adjust your settings accordingly if this is the case.
It is supposed to be there to help determine the water level.
Information pertaining to watts and amps can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the unit.
We recommend setting your dehumidifier to between 40-50%.
This varies based on model, however most models have been manufactured to have the fan turn off automatically.
This varies based on model. With some models you simply screw the hose onto the outlet on the back of the unit. With other models you have to remove the bucket, feed the hose through the back of the unit and connect to the adaptor above the bucket area, then replace the bucket. It is important to look at your control panel. Some units have a “continuous drain” button on the control panel. If that is the case for your unit, you must press this button after the hose is in place or the function will not work. Please refer to your owner’s manual.
This will vary based on humidity level. It will pump out the water when it reaches a certain level (pump models only).
This varies by model, however all dehumidifiers are a one shot timer. Please refer to the owner’s manual for timer instruction.
