Quick Omelette Recipe – Microwave Convenience

Let’s face it, whether you are a time-crunched student or a busy parent, our mornings do not always go as planned. As a result, instead of preparing a healthy breakfast or a hearty lunch, we opt for the more convenient processed food alternative such as fast-food. Jim Estill, Danby’s busy CEO and President thinks you should never have to compromise a healthy meal for convenience! Jim showed us how to cook an omelette in a Danby microwave using a mug – an easy meal for anyone with a microwave. We call this omelette recipe the ‘Jim-lette’ and like any other omelette, you can easily substitute in any of your favorite herbs or vegetables.

How do you make an omelette in a microwave? Here it is!

Jim-lette Recipe

What you need:

-Chives
-Parsley
-Tarragon
-Basil
-Eggs
-Tbsp of flour (Jim suggests whole wheat….he is a bit of a health nut)
-A Danby Microwave
-A mug (For best results we suggest you use a Danby mug)

Steps:
1. Chop the chives, parsley, tarragon, and basil up. Combine in the mug.
2. Add the eggs to the mug (we suggest you crack them first)
3. Add the tablespoon of flour and mix!
4. Place mug in microwave.
5. Cook for no more than 1m 30s.
Tip: The flour helps contain the egg in the mug however, this ingredient is optional.
WARNING: Will only work with a Danby Microwave.

Wondering what other foods you can cook using your microwave? Everything! Rice, muffins, mac and cheese, pie – the options are endless!

There is a reason why we listed microwaves as a must-have for every college student. So the next time your morning does not go as planned, go for a quick and easy microwaveable omelette to get you through your busy day (we highly recommend the Jim-lette).
